Of mice and cats

Yesterday started out with nasty thunderstorms. Even exotic field mice could not lure me out to get my paws wet. Snowball, Fluffy, Scrappy, Ben and I sat around playing cards. We passed the hours with our favorite game, Go Fish! A few of the wilder young ones wanted to play Old Maid. Those of us who had our tonsils removed many years ago just couldn't get into it.

Eventually the skies cleared and the day was wonderful. We spent several hours hunting and chasing. We only caught a few. I was disappointed. I discovered that field mice taste gamy and stringy. Who knew?

Then I spent the rest of the early evening laying out in the sun. I will be leaving here soon. I have had fun, but I have the rest of the world to explore! So onward...
